This year’s European Open lived up to the Major name. The crowds were huge and the competition was compelling. Team Innova’s Eveliina Salonen went into the final round with a lead, Vinny had the turnaround of the season, and Sofia Donnecke made her PDGA Major debut.
Eveliina Salonen shot the hot second round at the 2024 European Open, a 1006-rated, -4. She also led the field in Strokes Gained Tee to Green for the event.

Calvin struggled on the Monster course at the Tempere Disc Golf Center, shooting 7 over through the first two rounds. He followed that up with back-to-back -10s at the Beast in Nokia, jumping over 50 spots up the leaderboard.
Kat Mertsch just earned the third top 5 of her career at a PDGA Major, including 5th at the 2022 European Open and 3rd at the 2023 Champions Cup.

Sweden’s Dennis Augustsson shot -10 in the final round to rocket 24 spots up the leaderboard. That moved him from just outside the cash line all the way into a tie for 14th place.
In her first event since being promoted to Team Champion, Sofia Donnecke led the field in C1 Hits in Regulation. It was her first PDGA Major and she made the final-day cut.

Sexton made 8 out of 12 circle two putts last weekend, was 2nd in the field in C2 Putting, and led in average putt distance.
